Salem is a town located in Oconee County in Upstate South Carolina. The population was 126 at the 2000 census and in 2007 was 131. It is pretty small since it covers only 0.8 square miles. It is a beuatiful area that will never become crowded since so much of Oconee County is in the Sumter National Forest. But since Salem is only 2 hours from Atlanta and a short drive to Greenville, it could be the perfect place to live. And Salem has a pleasant 4 season climate with mild summers and winters.
