Honea Path South Carolina
Honea Path is in both Anderson and Abbeville counties in Upstate South Carolina and is referred to as "The Little Town With the Big Heart". The town was chartered in 1855 with the name Honey Path, which was a mistake as the locals all called it Honea Path, even before the War between the States. In 2000, the census had the population at 3,504, which are some very lucky people since they live in such a great little town. Many people are not aware that Honea Path is home to a Carnegie library built from the donations of Andrew Carnegie!
Honea Path has attracted numerous small businesses that supply an unusually vast array of goods and services such as restaurants, shopping centers, antique stores, business services, artisans, real estate, building and construction and so on. Economic diversity is one key to Honea Path's continued growth and success. Honea Path is constantly working for growth without losing its charm so that it will not become another "generic" suburban community. Honea Path is not the place for you if you are looking for subdivisions, strip malls, fast food restaurants, etc etc. But if you are looking for character, charm and good neighbors, be sure to check out Honea Path.
